About Us
Welcome to Sparta First Baptist Church! We are a family who worship God together, serve in our community and grow together in Christ. And we want you to be a part of our family! We hope this page will answer any questions you may have about what to expect when you come and what we believe.
Our Mission

To be a family who loves as Christ loves

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31

  • Loving the Lord through Worship
  • Loving the lost through Evangelism
  • Loving the body of Christ through Discipleship
  • Loving one another through Fellowship and Edification

Come back on Sunday evening for discipleship time at 6:00 pm.

Currently we have no Wednesday activities, but plans are in the work to reinstitute some children and adult activities soon.

What should I wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.  We have people who come in jeans and a t-shirt and some who wear dresses or a suit.
What do we believe?

about God…
There is one, and only one, living and true God. he is all powerful and all knowing. God reveals Himself to us through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

about Salvation…
Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

about Baptism…
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus.
